In a society of endless opportunities, you might wonder, “where do I even begin?” While it’s thrilling to know that the world is within your grasp, and you can choose from almost any career you’re willing to work for, it can also become quite overwhelming. However, please don’t fret because today, the Vaddo, Inc team is going to leave you with some quality tips to help you find the career that’s your perfect fit. Let’s dive in!

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” — Steve Jobs

This will be a little different for everyone, as we’re all unique and have individual things that will fill our cup and fuel our happiness. A good formula to follow is:

What you’re good at + what brings you joy + something that brings in money = your dream job!

It sounds simple enough, but it’s one of those “easier said than done” things, right? No worries! We’re going to break it down even further. First thing’s first, you have to figure out what makes you happy. We suggest exercising a quick brain dump. Set some time aside, grab a pen and paper, and head somewhere without any background noise or distraction. Then, write down anything, and everything you can think of that makes you smile; that you would like to see in your day-to-day business ventures. It’s okay if it’s messy! Just let your brain flow and transfer it all to the paper.

Next, we want you to take part in the same brain dumping exercise, but this time, really focus on the things in your life that you excel in, that you could provide as a service to others. Maybe you enjoy graphic design, drawing, or socializing with others. Take note of all these actions and lay them all before you.

Now that you have these two detailed papers, the following step is to go through them and organize everything into common themes. Really start to pick out the similarities from each one. These are the first two points of the 3-part formula: What you’re good at + what brings you joy. For example, let’s say you’re good at cooking and connecting with others brings you joy. Next on the agenda is to figure out how to monetize these two together. Can you find a job like this on the market? Is this a sustainable business you can build for yourself?

Per our example, you enjoy working in the kitchen and talking to others. If you’re just a chef, you’re able to meet step 1 of the criteria, but you won’t have too much interaction beyond your team. Let’s take it one step further. Here are some options to reach the third step:

  • Work in a restaurant where you can cook in front of guests
  • Open a culinary class for groups to sign up for and lead a workshop on recipes

With those two ideas, all three components are met and, in turn, should be a career that fulfills the cup of our example and brings them happiness in their job.

At Vaddo, Inc, we love connecting with others, providing a service to help market their brands, and in turn, make a profit. However, our day-to-day operations don’t feel like work because we genuinely enjoy what we do and who we’re meeting our goals with.
